"Thomas Says"

"He Knows Exactly What Colors Are"
|
Thomas says that yellow tastes like mustard.
Red is as sweet as watermelon. And hurts when he finds it on his scraped knee. Blue is the color of the sky when kites are flying. Thomas thinks that without the sun, water doesn't amount to much. It has no color, boo taste, no smell. He says that green smells like grass that's just been cut. Black is the king of all colors. It is as soft as silk when his mother hugs him and her hair falls in his face. Thomas liks all of the colors. He can hear them. Smell them. Touch them. And taste them. |
Thomas cannot see colors,
but he can taste them. Thomas cannot see colors, but he can feel them. Thomas cannot see colors, but he can hear them. Thomas cannot see colors, but he can hear them. Thomas cannot see colors like you and I. He cannot see them like animals and insect do. Thomas cannot see colors, but just like you and me. He knows exactly what colors are. |
